Long Version — Plain-English Explanation

What is this Agreement?

Help My Mates is an independent platform designed to educate, connect and help people support animal welfare, conservation, environmental and related charitable causes.

A charity that participates is called a Beneficiary Charity.

The charity does not become part of Help My Mates. Help My Mates does not become part of the charity.

1

We remain independent

Help My Mates and each Beneficiary Charity remain completely separate organisations.

The Agreement does not create a partnership, joint venture, agency, ownership, membership, employment or governance relationship.

We support them. We do not represent them. They remain independent. We remain independent.

2

There are no Founding Partners

A Beneficiary Charity does not become a Founding Partner of Help My Mates.

It receives no ownership, shares, voting rights, management rights or control over Help My Mates.

3

We assess each other

Before participating, both sides can conduct due diligence.

Help My Mates may assess the charity's legal status, governance, finances, reputation, safeguarding, transparency and ability to receive donations.

The charity can independently assess Help My Mates, including its legal structure, donation model, payment arrangements, privacy, fundraising practices and reputation.

Either side can decide not to proceed.

4

Help My Mates chooses the organisations it supports

Help My Mates decides which organisations it wishes to support and invite to participate.

The charity independently decides whether it wishes to participate.

Participation is voluntary for both sides.

5

Support does not create an association

Help My Mates may promote a charity, explain its work and facilitate donations to it.

That does not mean Help My Mates represents, owns, controls or is affiliated with the charity.

The relationship is one of support without association.

6

There is no permanent charity status

Being a Beneficiary Charity does not guarantee permanent inclusion on the Help My Mates platform.

Help My Mates may add, suspend, remove or replace charities.

If Help My Mates determines that another organisation is better suited to receive future support for a particular Cause, it may make that change in accordance with the Agreement and applicable law.

7

Past support does not guarantee future support

A charity may receive substantial financial or charitable support through Help My Mates.

However, previous support does not create an entitlement to future funding, future donations, continued platform placement, exclusivity, ownership or preferential treatment.

Past support does not create a right to future support.

8

Donations are transparent

The Beneficiary Charity is intended to receive 100% of the Donor's Designated Amount, subject only to any unavoidable Payment Provider charge or statutory deduction that is properly disclosed.
